Half a century of green tea!

When unrefined tea arrives from a trusted contracted farmer, we discern its characteristics, determine the optimum method, and manufacture and finish it.
During the tea-making process, we observe the tea many times to check the color, taste, aroma, and balance of the tea.
​Only good tea grown on the Makinohara Plateau is carefully finished to create a rich flavor.
We aim to improve the quality by continuing research such as plucking, steaming, and burning.
We are doing fine-tuned correspondence with high-variety, low-volume production.
It is characterized by strong aroma, umami, and sweetness even in the
same deep steamed tea.

History of Yamaman Chagyo
Founded as Katase Shoten in 1917
1935 Exported tea production and
sales. Sales contract with foreign trading company
1949 Manufacture and sale of black tea
1954 Reorganized as Yamaman Tea Co., Ltd.
1964 Constructed a tea refrigerator
1969 (Yamaman tea industry) and reorganization
1972 Retail store renovation
1979 Built a new factory
